Public Mainnet Beta is Now Live
The Movement Network Foundation is excited to announce Public Mainnet Beta!
Now, for the first time, Movement Network supports permissionless app deployment and user onboarding. You can now build freely on Movement.
Public Mainnet Beta completes the initial phases of the Movement Network. We will continue to launch additional features over time.
What Is Movement?
Movement is a secure and scalable Move-based blockchain secured by Ethereum and crypto-economics, creating safer execution environments by way of Move (Aptos-type dialect).

Execution
Movement uses the Move Virtual Machine (MoveVM) for its execution layer. The MoveVM utilizing BlockSTM forms a powerful execution engine capable of delivering 160K+ theoretical TPS.
Data Availability and Sequencing
Movement’s leader node batches transactions, stores transactions, and provides partial transaction ordering. Celestia then facilitates Movement’s final transaction sequencing. In the future, Movement transactions will be ordered via a decentralized sequencer.
Settlement
Transaction blocks are anchored to Ethereum, making Movement the only Move-based chain to settle to Ethereum. Attestations of block states are committed to Ethereum as part of Movement’s postconfirmations, part of the Network’s forthcoming fast-finality settlement mechanism. In addition, a confirmation layer will allow Movement to achieve transaction confirmation in the order of seconds.
Gas Token
MOVE is the native gas token of Movement Network.
Move
Developed by Meta, the Move language introduces resource-oriented programming. It provides domain-specific primitives that developers need to write secure smart contracts, as well as the Move Prover. The Move Prover gives developers formal verification capabilities.
Building on Movement
Developers can now deploy smart contracts without approval. Users can now use Movement.
To start, there will be rate limiting on endpoints to help prevent Sybil attacks and abusive usage, helping ensure system security and stability.
Bridging
The canonical Movement bridge is now live.
Powered by LayerZero, this bridge is the canonical bridge to and from Movement Network.
You can bridge MOVE between Movement and Ethereum. Other supported assets: USDT, USDC, WETH, and WBTC. For a period following launch, users cannot bridge MOVE back to Ethereum, though this restriction is only temporary.
To start, there will be a waiting period of up to 3 days when bridging assets from Movement to Ethereum. There is NO waiting period when bridging from Ethereum to Movement. In order to minimize the potential damage in the event of an exploitation, the bridge will have daily limits on how much total MOVE can be transferred:
75 million MOVE day 1
25 million MOVE each day after

Enhanced Liquidity
The Cornucopia program will provide enhanced liquidity to Movement Network. With more than $200M flowing into the program's vaults and then to Movement, our ecosystem gains an early injection of BTC, ETH, MOVE, and stablecoin assets.
